I took artistic liscense with the name of the Mitch Albom bestseller from years past. But as I sat here at my desk in the Chicago hotel thinking about my national sales meeting, even though I'm in Purchasing, it's still a sales job. So I woke up at 4:45 in the AM, I didn't know there were two of them a day(haha, stupid joke) and showered because I can't function without a shower or shouldn't be allowed in public without a shower anyway. Drove 18 miles to the airport in 14 minutes, which is a pretty impressive feat, and then immediately started yawning. I think I fell asleep on the plane and by "I think I fell asleep," I mean that I fell asleep on the airplane and when I woke up my mouth was open and I was about to drool all over myself. The cute girl two seats away was rather impressed.
SPEAKING OF THE CUTE GIRL TWO SEATS AWAY, I got cock-blocked by a 12 year old kid. See, I flew SouthWest to Chicago Midway and I don't know if you loyal readers know much about SouthWest, but it's a cattlecall. You just get a letter and that tells you when you're allowed to board, but doesn't tell you where you can sit, you can sit wherever you want. Well me being a big dude, head not added into the fray, I like to go to the back because 98 times out of 100 people like to be up front when they fly so they can get off the plane first and be on their way. With me, it's different. I'm not really in much of a hurry, I'm relatively patient when it comes to that and don't like to be touched/bumped/elbowed...etc. So anyway, I had A boarding pass, which meant I was to be one of the first on the airplane. It's my time to board and I go directly to the back of the plane. There's one dude there, older gentleman, really nice guy sitting across the aisle from me. We start talking that he likes to sit in the back of the plane for the same reason as me, doesn't want to sit next to anyone. This plan is only good if the plane is not full. Well this flight WAS NOT FULL!!! I don't know if anyone can read capitals, but I'll write it again more clearly(and with all of the resources blogspot gives me) WAS NOT FULL!!! So here comes a cute, little blonde girl looking me right in the eyes, didn't even have to ask, I got up, she got in, thanked me, smiled again. (Mind you, it's 6:30am). We're sitting there for awhile waiting for the greatest sound in the world: The airplane doors closing when you have an empty row or an empty seat in between you. That sound never came. Two little freaking squirts come waddling on the plane, ask the friendly(but not cute) flight attendant where they can sit, she shoos them away, but the younger of the obviously two brothers looks at the row ahead of me, where he sees a scary dude with tattoos and a dark haired, relatively attractive(at 6am) female, or his other option is big headed Creegs and lovely cute smiling blonde to sit between. Who do you think he chooses? That's right. I tell you that because as the cute, smiling blonde was sitting next to me, she dropped something onto the floor in which I rescued for her, she said thank you and smiled. She started asking me about my ipod nano and what type of music I had on it, etc. Small talk, and as I proved this past weekend, I don't do well when females throw themselves at me. Granted, cute, smiling blonde was, by no means throwing herself at me, but it would have probably kept me awake, not drooling on myself for the duration of the flight, and it would have been good conversation. It was great though because as the young cock-blocker sat down, me and cute, smiling blonde(did I get the point across yet?) looked at each other and we both had a look like we knew that our conversing was done, complete, kaput! AND, if there could be a worse part, dude fell asleep instantly and was leaning in my direction, almost with his head on my shoulders. I hope I was snoring!
Side note: poor 12 year old cock block, apparently, it seemed like the kid had crabs. Either that or he was just obtaining hair in his crotch-al region, because dude was scratching his stuff every second of the flight. He even tried some ways to hide it, as if we weren't going to see dude DIGGING for gold "down yonder."
Busy next few weeks, but I did manage to free-write this post. I sat down thinking I wouldn't have much to write and here I am writing one of my longest, self-generated posts in a long while. I'm heading to Massachusetts this weekend for my niece's 1st birthday party and coincidentally, some Clemson baseball against Boston College. Then next week my boss is in town, then I move, then going to Key West for Smoke's bachelor party. Definitely looking forward to some "R&R" in May.
(p.s. check out The Fray and Tom Sartori, two new artists that I've started listening to and they are growing on me. It's good mellow, Creegs-style music, both have websites)
Inquiring minds want to know what a 34 year old traveling man is doing with himself, or to himself every weekend.

Tampa IS Fun
So this weekend, my boy (and girl) Hunter and FineCheese came to Tampa for some shenanigans, and shenanigans was had by all. It started out a little slow with Friday afternoon meeting up for some lunch out on Clearwater Beach. We ate, stood on the beach in the water for some time and before we knew it, it was 7:30 and we were still on the beach. Being that the visitors were a bit tired from their early morning trek and long day, they decided to go back to Hunt's brother's house to retire for the night. I went to my boys place and drank some beers until 3:30am, which was not smart at all.
I don't know if I mentioned the story of getting my ATM card taken by Regions Bank ATM machine. It wasn't pretty, but with all of my travel coming up this week, with going to Chicago from Tuesday through Friday and then flying to Boston for some Clemson baseball and my niece's first birthday, I needed my ATM card. Long story short, I got my ATM card from the nice UPS driver on Saturday afternoon at 4pm. So now it was time for debauchery. I began my trip over to Hunters brothers house and stopped at the liquor store and bought a nice sized bottle of vodka, two 12 packs of lemonade and a 12-pack of beer. Well, probably 7-8 vodka lemonades later, we're heading to Channelside, a little upscale bar area in downtown Tampa. From that moment on it was a lot of beer drinking, a lot of laughs and even some Creegs dance party USA-time. It was a good time. I think the quote that Hunter said to me was, "We may have to start alternating weekends between you coming to Savannah and us coming down here." That's fine with me. It was a blast. Great to see the happy couple, and always good to not talk to females at a Tampa bar. Sorry Cheese, I blew that.
This week will be extremely hectic with all of the travel and if I'm not completely tired on Tuesday, I will post something then, but it's up in the air. So don't kill me if I don't post.
Hope everyone has a great week. Talk to you all soon.

Slow Week
I stole this message from a buddy's website. There is not me writing this, but it is interesting and I think I fall into the "nice-guy" category, so I thought I'd share it with you. Funny stuff coming back at you on Sunday. Hunt and Cheese are on their way down. Should be good times...
Ladies,
Give the nice guys a chance..you say that is what you want..so stop giving the assholes all the attention. Its hard to be a nice guy, and often times, it comes back to haunt us. You girls just don't realize how much happier you would be with a nice guy, and when you do..ITS TOO LATE!!!! There are a few of you that know what I am talking about. A nice guy gives a girl 1 chance...either she takes it or leaves it. If she take it, she will be happy for a long time. BUT, if she leaves it..she WILL regret it more often than not. Enjoy what you are about to read..
Don't assume that guys won't care where you are, because we do.
If we say "Call me when you get home," know we say that because we CARE about your safety and we would die if something happened to you.
IT MAKES US FEEL SO SECURE TO KNOW THAT OUR GIRLFRIEND ISNT OFF FLIRTING WITH GUYS WE'VE NEVER HEARD OF!!
We don't care if you talk to other guys. We don't care if you're friends with other guys. But when you're sitting next to us, and some random guy walks into the room and you jump up and tackle him, without even introducing us, yeah, it pisses us off. It doesn't help if you sit there and talk to him for ten minutes without even acknowledging the fact that we're still there.
Also, when we tell you you're pretty/ beautiful/ gorgeous/ cute/ stunning, we freaking mean it. Don't tell us we're wrong, or we are only trying to get in your pants, or any of that other bullshit. We'll stop trying to convince you. The sexiest thing about a girl is confidence. Yeah, you can quote me.
Don't be mad when we hold the door open. Just smile and say "thank you." That is all we ask for in return.LET US PAY FOR YOU! DON'T "FEEL BAD" We enjoy doing it. It's expected. IT'S HOW WE WERE RAISED. It's called MANNERS and being a GENTLEMAN!!Smile and say - everybody together now - "thank you."
Kiss us when no one's watching. Even if it is just on the cheek, the hand, wherever..it will mean the world to us.If you kiss us when you know nobody's looking we'll be more impressed.
You don't have to get dressed up for us. If we're going out with you in the first place, you don't have to feel the need to wear the shortest skirt you have, put on every kind of makeup you own. We like you for WHO you are and not WHAT you are. honestly, i think a girl looks more beautiful when she's just in her pj's. not all dolled up. We LIKE the natural look. Whether you think so or not, you ARE Beautiful to us.
Don't flirt with guys when were not with you. We have eyes everywhere. And when we find out, we're pissed. Not necessarily with the guys you flirted with, more-so with YOU.
Don't take everything we say seriously. Sarcasm is a beautiful thing. See the beauty in it. Don't get angry easily.
(I agree with most all of it. This took some thinking on his part, and I respect that aspect of it. Let me know what you think.)

Ow, My Neck Hurts...
So this past weekend was supposed to be a chill-out weekend with not a lot going on. I was supposed to go watch the masters with some fellow Clemson people, drink some beers and then sleep a lot to catch up because Mr. T kept me up way too late. But sometimes the best laid plans of mice and men...
Friday night was just a chill-out night, one that I needed to have. It started out when Patty Mc called me and said that he probably wasn't doing anything but watching tv. Then he called back and said that he had an idea, for me to bring xbox over to his house, he'd buy beers and it'd be a major guy/geek night. Then I had forgot to do something for work, so I was catching up on that, forgot the xbox and went over to his house. Beers were had and it was 1:30 before I knew it. Not drunk at all, I went home. Slept a good bit on Saturday morning, but had to be up for the 1o'clock party. I go over to Clemson people's house and that's where my Saturday night started going downhill. Beers started to flow like water and I threw out the blanket statement that if they had some lemonade, I'd break into the vodka. See, that's my new drink, vodka/lemonade. It's brilliant. Needless to say, one bottle of vodka later we had to go out to the liquor store to get more. Then it turned into, vodka/lemonade with red bull, or vodka, lemonade, LiveWire(Mountain Dew Orange) and redbull, and a few games of beirut later, I'm drunk dialing people I haven't talked to in months and even calling people that I know, don't like me. But I digress.
So I get a ride to the bars where my buddies are having "guys night." The beer starts flowing again, and it's on like Donkey Kong. We're drinking, shots are being done, and my credit card is being thrown around more than Jenna Jameson. Then we, not me, decide to go enjoy some adult entertainment, but because me and Can'tMiss are talking to some fine ladies we decide to stay in the cab and go to the bar that the girls were going. Being that they were all over us to go to the bar, we went and left the boys to look at naked girls while we were going to look at fully clothed ones. That's really where the night went because I don't know which bar we were at, don't know if I'd be able to pick it out of a lineup. It was bad. I'll leave the loyal readers hanging on this one. Leave the night off with sort of a cliff-hanger of sorts as to what happened with the lovely rich Greek girl that I spent most of the night trying to figure out what trying to pronounce her name correctly. It was a fun night. That's how I roll.
Finally, I got onto a softball team. I looked like a fat ARod yesterday. It was a tryout of sorts because all of the guys on the squad work for the sponsor they had to take a vote to let me on the team or not. Well it just so happens that in batting practice, I hit three BOMBS over the pseudo green monster, and made some sparkling defensive plays in the field which lead to an overwhelming 'yes' when asked if they'd have me on their team. I'm in pain a bit today because other than some tennis with Mr. T last week, I've done nothing that physically gruelling in awhile.
Have a great week. I'll write more soon.

Does Anyone Still Read This Thing?
So I missed Tuesday's post probably because I've had little sleep in the past week. Mr. T graced me with his presense this week. I said before and even he said yesterday on our way out for lunch, "We haven't really had any blog-worthy things happen to us." That is only somewhat true. The blog-worthy story is that Mr. T was in the house hanging out, laughing, telling stories and throwing the inevitable "You HATE me!" line out like it was candy. (wrong comparison, but whatever, no one's reading) Dude is great. There's a nasty rumor that could have him here in Tampa Bay area for work, saving up the money to head to the city of his choice to pursue the acting career that I yearn to do as well. I don't want to get hopes up or anything like that, so I'll downplay it at the outset. It's been almost 24 hours and I still don't have a resume in my hands to pass to the proper people, so...
BIG NEWS!!! No, I'm not engaged, but I do love myself, so I may ask myself to marry me this weekend, depending on how drunk I get. Hunter and FineCheese will be in the Tampa Bay area, I know, I know, ZDog and Yarbs are thinking to themselves, "we can do that? we can actually go visit Creegs in Florida? I thought the interstate only went from Tampa to Savannah." haha. Very exciting to have people come visit. Mr. T has been to Tampa now, I believe four times, ZD has been to Tampa no times, well once, but we were on Spring Break and the woman at the porn shop knew his mother in Ohio, small world. Yarbs crashed his miata on Hillsborough Ave. If you spend enough time with him and bring up Tampa, he'll tell you that story. Anyway, my peeps are coming my way and it's exciting. BUT, I was thinking about this the other night. I don't really know how to have a Savannah-esque type of night here in Tampa. Most of my stories come from hanging at a local bar with some crazies, very different from a night in Savannah. We'll see what happens. Wine-O, Hunter's brother(because he's in the beverage sales biz) moved down here, so maybe he has some good plans. It's just exciting that they're coming down. Can't wait for that.
This weekend is tough. This week has been tough. Late nights, early mornings, work, school, etc. So I thought that tonight would be a night that I would work all day, come home eat some dinner, lay in the bed and be done, until my phone rang at 11am and my Clemson peeps have plush seats for tonights Lightning game. I can't turn that up, plus I've turned them down so often that I can't do it again. AND, I'm going to be hanging out with them on Saturday "because they called 'dibs' on me." That's sad really. People calling dibs to hang out with me, like I'm some sort of shit-show. Well, I am, but really...
Looking forward to this weekend, including tonight. Mr. T, be safe on the rest of your journey. Enjoy your time with LovelyLady(ma'am, yes ma'am, sir, ma'am, sir, yes sir, ma'am) and the masters. Do something crazy for the cameras. Thanks for coming down. Now you know to be here on the weekends though because this guy can't hang during the week. If you move here, Super Grouper EVERY DAY, and an occasional cheese steak.
Just had a band recommended to me, and I would recommend them to you, loyal readers. The Fray. There's a little Coldplay, U2, Ben Folds, Dave mixed into one. It's really pretty derrrrrrn good. Holla!

Miami, The Rock and Mr. T!
So my "plans" went from tentative to really weird and fun in the matter of moments. I left Tampa Friday morning to work in Ft. Myers for the day, more than halfway to Miami, with the full intention of heading to Miami, watching the Clemson/Miami baseball game and then most likely heading back home to Tampa. Yeah, that didn't happen. So I went to Miami, got there right before the game, grabbed a bite to eat and went in to catch the tail-end of batting practice and then the game. That's about all that went according to plan. I saw a friends dad down there at the game, and he asked me what I was doing after the game, I told him I was heading back to Tampa to get back home to take care of some business, but instead, I was overcome by peer pressure as he went on to tell me that I wasn't leaving and that I was instead going to crash with them in their hotel. So the next thing I know I'm looking at the time on my cell phone and it's 5, but in the AM variety. So the next day, I got up at 11 and thought that I should just go back to Tampa and miss game two of the series. Yeah, that didn't happen. I was once again talked into staying for lunch, which lead to staying the night once again. So we went to Hooters at 1pm for some greasy wings and a lot of beers. Then back to the hotel to get cleaned up, then to TGI Fridays for some more beers, then off to the game. A bit "under the weather," if you know what I mean.
Here's a side story about how I get a little mouthy where there are a few beers involved. I got to the stadium and the game had just started, my phone rang, so I sat down in the "reserved" seats that were EMPTY, and by EMPTY, I mean that there was not a single person sitting in these seats. NO ONE!!! So I'm talking to my cousin on the phone when I feel this overwhelming presense over my shoulder. I don't think anything of it, hang up the phone and I hear in a hi-pitched really annoying voice, "Can I see your ticket?" To which I go on to tell him that my ticket is for the general admission and I stand anyway during the games, so I'd be on my way, but before I left I asked what the big deal was. He said that the seats were "mainly corporate." I went on to ask if by me sitting there I was doing something terribly wrong by sitting there for three minutes. He wouldn't answer me straight, throwing some bullshit about it "being {his} job." To which I said, wouldn't it look better for the school if people were sitting in those seats instead of having it completely empty? Once the game started about four people ended up sitting in that entire section. I never challenge authority, but on this night, after plenty of beers I had the balls to do so.
So Saturday night was much the same as Friday night, went back to Fridays for some Vodka/lemonade drinks and a bowl of soup, which was absolutely brilliant by the way. If you're ever at Fridays, order the broccolli cheddar soup, it's amazing. Then it was off to Coconut Grove, a little downtown style area with lots of shoppes and bars, etc. A scaled down, not some plush South Beach, from what I understand. A lot of women with fake boobs hanging out of little shirts hanging out with guys that didn't deserve them. It was cool though. Then went back to the hotel for some much needed floor-sleep. Forgot to set my clock ahead today, and had to be in Orlando to pick up Mr. T at the airport at 2. I got there, no worries. My boy is in the house, ready to watch some dogs race around in a circle and bet on them, and drink some beers with some "local game," and see how the "'06" is going for him. Should be fun. Now it's off to the shower and time to change the "draws" because not packing for a weekend comes back to haunt you after two days. Have a great week. Back tuesday with an update on Mr. T's visit. Should be some interesting stories.
Once again, happy birthday to Yarbs! Sorry I missed it. ZD, best of luck in Vegas! Win some freaking money.
